Wood construction and sustainable development
Wooden structure building has a long history of development in China, and the dry block type found at the Neolithic site of Hemudu in Yuyao, Zhejiang Province - wooden pile, wooden plank, wooden column beam structure is the earliest wooden structure house constructed by mortise and tenon technology in China. China's wood structure building developed to the Tang Dynasty and matured, and the practice of official wooden architecture was more systematically determined in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Wooden structure is world-renowned for its flexible construction style, reasonable layout, suitable building volume and exquisite decoration.
By the 20s of the 80th century, due to the shortage of forestry resources in China, and at that time, because it was unable to purchase wood from the international market, the application of wood structure in China was interrupted for a while. In recent years, with the setting and implementation of goals such as ecological environmental protection, carbon emission reduction and sustainable construction in the global construction field, the state has introduced a series of wood structure building related policies, and the research and application of wood structure building in China has begun to recover.
So, how does wood construction reflect sustainable and eco-friendly characteristics?
1. Less environmental pollution
In the brick-concrete structure, reinforced concrete structure and steel structure commonly used in China, the main components are clay bricks, cement and steel. The firing of cement and clay bricks and the smelting of steel will emit a large amount of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and dust, which seriously damages the ecological environment. Compared with the above three structures, the wood raw materials used in wood structures can not only absorb carbon dioxide, release oxygen and improve the natural environment during the growth process, but also have low energy consumption and less pollution to the natural environment during processing.
2. Sustainable recycling
On the basis of scientific management of forest resources and insistence that the amount of forest growth is greater than the amount of harvesting, forest resources can be used sustainably and recycled. The clay bricks, cement and steel in the raw materials of brick-concrete structures, reinforced concrete structures and steel structures will destroy cultivated fields and consume resources such as limestone and iron ore during the preparation process. However, natural resources are limited, so it is of great significance to promote the sustainable development of wood frame buildings in China.
3. Degradability
The green environmental protection performance of wood is also reflected in the easy degradation performance of wood. After degradation, wood decomposes into substances that can enter the natural cycle again, reducing environmental pollution and contributing to a virtuous cycle of the ecosystem. On the contrary, at present, many construction wastes in cities are difficult to recycle or even degrade, and in most cases can only be disposed of by deep digging and landfilling, which may cause direct pollution to soil and groundwater. Therefore, compared with brick-concrete structures, reinforced concrete structures and steel structures, the wood used in wood structure buildings can be naturally degraded after being discarded, which is a real green building material.
Extreme chestnut wood is a high-end wood with high strength, good weather resistance and flame retardancy and natural wood grain structure. The wooden beams, pillars and wood made of Jitai chestnut wood have been tested by the Wood Structure Engineering Technology Research Center of Tongji University, which fully meets the wood structure standards, and its performance is better than that of similar wood. It has ten characteristics of "hard, tough, flame retardant, sun resistance, no cracking, no deformation, waterproof, anti-corrosion, moth-proof, and no painting"!
Under the background of the country's unswerving path of sustainable development, Jingbo Muji will actively respond to national policies and continuously develop new wood structure building materials to meet the requirements of more scene applications. It is hoped that the use of wood ecological environmental protection, carbon sequestration and other characteristics can play a leading role in the sustainable development concept of the industry and promote the high-quality green development of the panel industry.
