Dishui Lake, also known as Luchao Lake, is located in Nanhui New Town, Pudong New Area, about 76 kilometers from the center of Shanghai, is the central lake of Nanhui New Town, which was designed by the master plan of the French GMP company and began construction in June 2002. Dishui Lake is perfectly circular, about 6.2 kilometers in diameter, with a total area of about 6.5 square kilometers, a water storage of about 56.1620 million cubic meters, a maximum depth of about 6.2 meters, and three small islands with a total area of 0.48 square kilometers in the lake. The North Island covers an area of about 23,5 square meters, the West Island covers about 6,14 square meters, and the South Island covers an area of about <>,<> square meters. Dishui Lake water conservancy supporting projects include three chain-shaped rivers of Chunlian River, Xialian River and Qiulian River, as well as seven projectile-shaped rivers of Chifeng Port, Orange Hegang, Huangri Port, Lvligang, Qingxiang Port, Lanyungang and Zifei Port, as well as Dishui Lake Lock, Luchao Diversion River Lock, Huangrigang Temperance Gate and Lvligang Temperance Gate, forming a water conservancy system for flood control and tide control and free drainage.
